Service Description

Landscapes tell a story. They invite the eye to wander, to pause, and to discover detail. In this technique-focused workshop, we explore how to transform simple die-cut elements into layered, dimensional scenes that feel alive. Using a fixed die set as our foundation, we’ll build cohesive landscape compositions — learning how to create depth, perspective and balance through thoughtful placement, colour harmony and subtle layering. You’ll discover: • How to frame a landscape so it draws the viewer inward • Ways to layer die cuts to create natural depth and movement • How to combine printed imagery with dimensional elements seamlessly • Techniques for adding texture without overwhelming the scene • The art of finishing touches — sentiment placement, gold accents, and tactile detail This class is about more than arranging shapes. It’s about learning how to “see” a scene — understanding foreground, middle ground and background — and using die cuts as storytelling tools. As always at Michael’s Card Art, the focus is on technique, refinement and creative confidence. Whether you love bold 3D layering or prefer a softer, more subtle dimensional approach, you’ll leave with practical skills you can apply across future projects. Because every landscape begins with a single element — and what you build from there is entirely up to you. Facilitator will be in contact with you via email prior your course commencement in order for you to adequately prepare for the workshop.
