Colour is what transforms paper into petals, leaves into life, and simple die cuts into something truly special. In this workshop, we focus on the techniques that bring your floral and decorative elements to life through thoughtful colouring, shading, and blending. Whether you love soft, delicate tones or richer, more dramatic hues, learning how to add dimension with colour will elevate every project you create. The project featured here shows how colour can create depth and realism. Notice how the petals are darker at the centres and lighter toward the edges, how the leaves shift in tone to suggest natural curves, and how subtle blending helps each element stand out without overpowering the design. During this class, you’ll learn how to: • Add depth using light and shadow • Blend colours smoothly for a natural finish • Use shading to shape petals and leaves • Choose colour combinations that work beautifully together • Highlight focal points without overwhelming your design You don’t need to be an artist to achieve stunning results — just a few simple techniques and a willingness to experiment. Let’s bring your paper pieces to life, one layer of colour at a time. Live Workshops (Zoom and In-Person) Cancellations made more than 14 days before the workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before the workshop will receive a credit towards a future class. Please contact us to discuss. Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop are non-refundable, as materials and preparation will already have been completed. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your booking to another person by notifying Michael's Card Art prior to the workshop. As digital products cannot be returned, purchases of online classes are non-refundable. If you experience technical difficulties accessing your class materials, assistance will be provided promptly.
