Handmade card with pink flowers, a tree, and a sign reading "Birthday blooms for you" on a blue background. Star details and green leaves.

Project Highlights

The focal point for me is the dimensional garden foreground. The individually shaped leaves and flowers add depth and movement, while the raised fence anchors the scene and gives it a sense of place. I particularly loved adding the signpost and envelope detail—it brings a subtle narrative touch, as though a birthday message is on its way.

Technique Tips

When building layered foliage like this, don’t glue everything flat. Slightly curve leaves and petals with a bone folder or your fingers before adhering them, and use a mix of liquid glue and foam dots to adhere elements. This creates natural shadows and stops the design from feeling heavy, even with lots of detail.

It’s been one of those satisfying projects where time disappears at the desk—and that’s always a good sign.

Until Next Time
